I think Fantine did not make a good decision to sleep with Thalomyes because I don't think she new what his intentions really were. She was a work girl so she should have had more precaution on who she fell in love with, in case it didn't work out and she should have known sooner than later. I think she did make a good decision on keeping the baby but she should have gotten help before the baby was born so her baby can be with her and not have to sell her things.
I think Jean Valjean did not make a good decision about the boy because he promised the bishop, even though he was tempted as his last before changing he shouldn't have. He should have been more careful .
We are fully responsible for our decision because we made it no one made it for us even if we would be pressured to do something in the end its on us because we could walk away and not make any bad decision . Whether its a bad decision its our own fault because we would have time to think about it before making the decision. We get pressured by society, desire, peer pressure, parental expectation, or social forces it all comes down to us whether its a good/ bad decision(s).  If someone gets pressure of any kind you can decide to walk away even if its tempting it all comes back.

"WRITING ABOUT LIFE AND DEATH "

The katha Upanishad qualifies as an allegory because it has death as a character but it's not really a character just a metaphor, explaining what death may be.  For example, when Yama is talking to Nachiketa he asks him if he would still exist after death. Then Nachiketa doesn't want to tell him because it was a secret . He kept on insisting to know the truth about death . When death appears as a character to explain what happens, it's like a metaphor because it's not really there and no one knows what will happen after death. When our mother gives birth to us she is sentencing us to death. Which is why Yama insisted on wanting to know what will happen after death  .   The other reason it qualifies as an allegory is how Nachiketa symbolizes what's best about being a teenager.
